Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most reliable places in Tanzania for a concentrated safari experience. The crater floor has grassland, lakes, woodland, and a high density of wildlife in a compact area.

A descent into the crater often brings close views of buffalo, hyena, elephant, lion, zebra, wildebeest, and, with luck, black rhino. The views from the rim are as memorable as the game drive below.

It works beautifully as part of a short safari or as a dramatic finale after the Serengeti.
